Save Your Movie on a CD
If you want to share your movies with someone who don’t have internet access, you can burn your movies on a CD. When she pops the CD into her computer, Windows Media Player will automatically play the movies.
To burn your movies on a CD, you need
- a CD Burner
- blank CD-R (CD-Recordable CDs)
Watch the tutorial and see how easy it is to burn your movies on CD with Movie Maker:
NOTES
When do you use a CD to share your movies?
I share my movies on the web as I finish them. For example, our Thanksgiving dinner. When my extended family clicks on the link and watch the Thanksgiving video, the memory’s still fresh in their mind and they are still in that ‘mood’.
Once a year, I select a few movies and burn them on a DVD to give to friends and families as a holiday ‘card’ for example.
So when do I choose CD to save the movie?
- when my audience does not have a fast internet connection, (can’t watch my movies on the web).
- when I don’t have a DVD burner
- when I am short on time (DVDs take longer to create and burn).
- when I know the person will be viewing it on a PC and can just pop the CD in and play.
- when I’m using the CD as a transport device to copy my movie to another PC.
- when I’m too cheap. CDs cost about about 50 cents, DVD’s are over $1.
Homework
- Check that you have a blank recordable CD (CD-R or CD-RW) in your CD burner.
- In Movie Maker, click Save to CD and follow the steps.
- When the movie is saved on the CD, pop the CD out (some PCs eject the Cd automatically).
- Now pop the CD back into the PC. The movie should play automatically.
